My traditional media illustrations are primarily done using pencil, ink, and Copic, ShinHan, or Posca markers. I also incorporate gel pens, colored pencils, and metallic paints for accents on pieces.
My digital illustrations are done in either Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or Clip Studio. I use digital illustration primarily for enamel pin, sticker, and ceramic decal design.
Sketching is where everything I make begins and continues to be one of my favorite steps in the process. I typically sketch in pencil and inked pieces are completed with a Sakura brush pen and microns.
I designed my first pin in 2018, a little raccoon named Lazy Sam. Creating Sam sparked a love for pin collecting and design; I’ve since released the Sugar Skull Cats in 2020, the Black Cats Collection in 2021, and designed my first rainbow anodized pins in 2022.
I first started throwing on the wheel in high school and went on to earn a BFA in Ceramics from Edinboro University of PA. My work is primarily wheel thrown, functional pottery with a focus on illustrative and carved surface decoration. I’ve also done collaborations with fellow potters, using decals, mishima, or sgraffito to decorate their wheel thrown work.
I’m also an amateur photographer who is mostly self-taught. I enjoys photographing plants and wildlife to use as references in my illustrations. My work is shot using either a Canon DLSR or Samsung 5S / S20 FE.
